Char Man

Description: A human like figure with burnt clothing and skin. Face is described as melting. May be a ghost and not a living creature. 

Location/Range: Found near Creek Road in Ojai, California.   

Sightings: Rumors of an Italian Vampire relocating to Ojai began in the 1890's. This could be the same figure. A 1948 fire in the area gave rise to new sightings of a creature in this area. Sightings are most common on the Creek Road Bridge over San Antonio Creek.

Fun Fact: Charman Hot Sauce is inspired by the legends of a burnt figure in the area. A 2019 movie Char Man explores the exsistance of the Ojai Vampire and Char Man.
