Description: A hairless canine-like species. The chupacabra is known as the goat sucker due to its preferred diet of goats. The Puerto Rican variety is more lizard or alien like in appearance.
Location/Range: California, Texas, Arizona, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
Sightings: First sighted in Puerto Rico in 1995, the chupacabra has been reported throughout the southwestern United States and Mexico.
Fun Fact: The chupacabra is considered a vampiric species due to its fondness for draining the blood from livestock.
Video of an encounter with the chupacabra. The creator of this site encountered a possible chupacabra in 2012 on route 78 heading into the San Jacinto Mountains from Hemet. This sighting helped inspire this project.
